Over this past week I have made some big steps in finishing my genius hour project. I am pretty much done the poetry part of my scrapbook. I added a few more poems covering styles such as free verse which was the most fun. Free Verse has no set structure or rule so I could write about any topic and let my creative rain run free. Writing all these poems was a healthy challenge for me. It allowed me to start developing some ideas for future poems while also providing me with some new additions to my body of work. The exciting part was I finally put all my poems in my scrapbook. I cut out all the poems and attached them to the pages. Below I have a few pictures of my poetry pages in my scrapbook.

All I have left to do is complete the artistic portion of my scrapbook. By next week I want to have the cover done with a few illustrations and some pictures. The kind of images I want to put on the cover are miscellaneous. I just want it to be fun and representative of the spunky vibe I was going for with my poems. Some ideas I have are including artwork, funny cartoons or memes and pictures revolving around poetry. My ultimate goal if I have time would be to include a few drawings throughout the book to accompany the poems. That would be my goal after everything is done. Those illustrations would be small and would match the theme of the poem.
This course has continued to teach me more about technology. Making the movie trailer allowed me to experiment with a couple different sites involving video making and presentations. I tried out Biteable and also Powtoon. I have used Powtoon before but I was able to become more experienced and proficient with it and learned how to manipulate the features on Biteable. I also learned some valuable resources that can be used in the classroom in relation to mobile learning. This is another avenue to explore 21st century competencies and getting gets connected with the digital world.
This has been another Genius Hour update and I am excited to be almost finished the project. Only a little more to go and I hope you have enjoyed following along.
