This is my first genius hour post and i look forward to sharing my lyrical progress with you all. My genius hour question involves creating a poetry/rap scrapbook. With this scrapbook i want to include a variety of poem styles covering topics that range from serious to humorous. In addition to the written component, my goal is to make the scrapbook look artsy by including various pictures and illustrations. My main motivation behind this project is to become a better writer and to expand my creative potential beyond little rhymes or puns. I have always made the content of my rhymes lean more on the comical side. I have always ben afraid or unwilling to tackle more serious or persona topics. My main goal after completing this scrapbook is to have the willingness to write about stuff that truly matters and to truly bare who I am and how i feel on the page. The progress I have made so far involves finding a scrapbook and deciding the types of poems i want to incorporate in my scrapbook....

         This module has taught me that copyright is a policy put in place to protect the creative license of people who publish, create or share their own works. I always had a basic understanding of what copyright was but i didn't understand the terminology and the different subcategories under the copyright banner. One other thing i learned is how copyright laws are modified based on the intended use of the image, video, article etc.This activity has taught me that some images could have restrictions where people can share them as long as it is not for commercial use but other images may not have those restrictions.  The most interesting thing I learned through this activity was the specific copyright laws that relate to teachers and what they can show in the classroom.
